This year (2022) is a very special one for us here at Bristol North Swimming Club (BNSC) as we celebrate our 100th anniversary, and we’ve got plenty lined up to mark the occasion, writes club chair Steph McNally. For a start, we’re reaching out to our local community to donate 100 hours of volunteering with local organisations and charities.

Bus timetable changes from Sunday 24th April 2022
A reduction in the operating frequency of the M1 MetroBus service is one of a number of changes being introduced by First West of England from Sunday 24th April 2022. From the same date, the current additional Monday to Friday off-peak ‘short journeys’ between Bristol city centre and Bristol Parkway Station will be withdrawn.

A boss from First Bus has defended the firm’s rerouting of its 73 service such that it no longer makes a loop through the south-east corner of Bradley Stoke, along Webbs Wood Road and Baileys Court Road. Stops on this section were “exceptionally poorly used”, accounting for less than 1 percent of total patronage on the route, he claimed.

A popular car boot sale that takes place near Bradley Stoke will reopen for the 2022 season on Easter Sunday (17th April), organisers have told the Journal. The weekly Trench Lane Boot Sale usually runs until the end of October. Fields at the site were mown today (Friday 15th April) in preparation for Sunday’s reopening.
